In addition, he is the President of the Prof. M. Viswanathan Diabetes Research Centre, where he leads pioneering research initiatives focused on addressing the growing challenges of diabetes and its complications. He is the founder of DFRI, an organization involved in research on Diabetic Foot conditions- epidemiology, management, latest/ advanced technology for its early detection/ treatment etc.
Dr. Viswanathan’s influence extends far beyond clinical practice. He has played a key role in shaping global standards in diabetology and is internationally recognized for his work in diabetic foot care and amputation prevention. His leadership as the first Non European, Asian President of D-Foot International highlights his commitment to improving patient outcomes on a global scale.

Hospital for Diabetes, Royapuram, Chennai and also serves as the President, Prof. M. Viswanathan Diabetes Research Centre. Being a part of WHO Collaborating Centre for Research, Education and Training in Diabetes and IDF Centre of Excellence in Diabetes Care, he continues to guide and train health care professionals in India and abroad in the prevention and management of diabetes.
